COMBACTE exhibition stand at ECCMID 2018 – Madrid, Spain
"Vomitofagia" is a neologism. “Vômito” (Portuguese), from the Latin Vomitus, is the act of ejecting; “-fagia”(Portuguese), a complement coming from Greek –phagia, indicating an eating or devouring. "Mito" (Portuguese), from Greek Muthos, a widely held but false belief or idea: a "Myth".
It is an Art Installation project for a representation of two artistic Brazilian movements, the Anthropophagism and the Tropicalism.
Anthropophagism: word and image. Tropicalism: word and sound. Vomitofagia: word, image and sound. An immersive environment where senses are stimulated and determine the space itself, which, plastically, takes the “rupture” and the metaphor of the physical process of digestion from those movements as their principle. The human body is reapropriated.

This project was designed as part of my Master Thesis, as an illustrative example of the principles defended as Hybrid Deconstructivism.
The Maze is an interactive media installation – a labyrinth of metallic structure, whose walls are filled by soft fabric black screens. LED lights cover the walls structure, and do not illuminate the black fabric directly: instead, a soft light wash comes from the tops and the bottoms, guiding the visitors through the ways. Only the bright light edges are clear from distance and proximity.
Large LED P4 screens interrupt the walls of Maze in strategic points – and the visitors then have a surprise: an infinite view, as if the labyrinth would never end. The screens show a “continuation” of the labyrinth prolonging the walls light edges ad infinitum. However, as the visitor gets close to what seems to be a way, the image disappears in generative graphics, generated by his / her presence.
The spatial orientation is affected. The senses are provoked. Physically simple, virtually complex. A simple structure that plays with perception.
Musicale is an urban, interactive leisure station that provides an immersion into the atmosphere of music visualisation.
Following theories on music colour scale, Musicale translates visitors’ presence and movements into different classical music pieces according to distance, body warmth and amount of people, and these to their colour scale.
Therefore many different combinations are possible as well as many different colour sequences. Musicale also gives the visitor a pleasant urban relaxing experience through its eye-catching, inviting and comfortable furniture design, suitable for indoor and outdoor environments. It's central body design was inspired by Berlin cylindrical advertisement urban furniture pieces, so Musicale could be adapted to them.
Musicale was shown at "In Bewegung" Exhibition in Feb 2014 and at "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften" in Mai 2014, both in Berlin.

Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule / MA Media Spaces _"Time Space Experiment" Project, which my keywords were "Time - Mechanics - Frame".
Inspirations from Hans Richter and all Dada films, Man Ray, Einstein, Saussure, Peirce and the Semiotics Theories and The Zeitgeist concept. And, of course, Marcel Duchamp's "Anémic Cinema" (1926).
These three elements presented through the Semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce and his Pragmatism: Icon, Index and Symbol. The Icon, here, is the Duchamp’s discs. The index is the traversed way, people and cars. The symbol is in the streets, represented by traffic words, lights and asphalt painting. These are the basic visual elements of mechanics. The semiotic representation of time and frame is insert when mechanics is linked with them through the speed and the displacement, resulting in different perspective views and time perception.
